So far so good and almost finished so the review will be up ASAP! Just keep checking back.
I am looking forward to reading both of these books. Have you read either of them?
What are you reading?
After returning from the US with this truly AWESOME pair of Jordan’s they are all I want to wear. Sadly they do not go with everything and I don’t want to wear them out quickly so they do go back in the box every now and then!
If you have Jordan’s – How do you wear yours? If you don’t buy some because they are über comfortable!
This delectable bathroom goody has made me want more than the regular three showers a day (it may seem excessive to some but oh well!). Have you tried it?
These bad boys have not only tamed my locks but also kept away the split ends and made my hair feel sleek. Very happy at the moment!
Listening to . . .
This is the clean version of the tune as I thought it was only appropriate for the blog. However if you would like to watch the original then please do find it on You Tube!
I listen to a variety of music but this song right now has made a regular recurrence on my playlist. What is on yours?
This show is highly addictive and there is something that I cannot identify about Benedict Cumberbatch that is just so HOT!
This week is a big one for me. My last four shifts at my current job before I am on annual leave over the Christmas period. This year I get to spend Christmas not only with my immediate family but with my lovely family that are from the US. Here I come Washington and NYC! Excited doesn’t even cover it!
Apparently it is freezing over there so I will be packing for the likes of the arctic and with some extra room for shopping (of course!). I will be travelling for the first time with my laptop and camera so I am hoping to get some amazing pictures. There are a couple of sights that I aim to see but I wont mention them just in case I don’t get the chance.
One thing that I will most definitely be indulging in is NY coffee. The atmosphere, the people, the weather and the decor out there will be extremely overwhelming – however it will be a very welcome sight.
Back to reality then . . .
I am going to give this book another 4-5 days before I put it to one side. It has taken up so much of my time so far and it is not that I am not enjoying it I just think I should have finished it by now. The point where your dad is reading the same book and over takes you says something!
Getting into the Christmas spirit is always a little easier when reading some light fiction about this lovely time of year and listening to christmas songs. That is exactly how I plan on getting through this book.
I am actually in LOVE with this luscious skin cream as once I have applied it in the morning it works right hard through the day until I get home at night. The fact that the air system at work dries out my skin, hair and anything else that is exposed to it. It is a small wonder to find something that keeps my skin moisturised for more than 12 hours. Good job Kiehl’s!
As most of us are aware there are some very sick people in this world and things like this have happened in the past. Sadly yet another attack on human kind has ensued. One that has sadly taken the lives of three people (one of which a young child) and has left more than 140 people injured. Those who took part in the materialization of this terrible act of callousness should be found and destroyed. President Obama stated that “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice.” (Boston Globe).
This young boy was a victim in the attack. Just so sad.
One of many injured in the attack.
Now all we have to do is come together and pray for Boston and all of those that were present. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones and to those that were injured in the attack. Let us also not forget those who witnessed the event as it will be something that they will sadly never forget. Prayers are needed and that is what I shall be doing so please join me.
After three night shifts at work I am feeling more than worn out. The last night in particular was a tough one as at the beginning some smart ass who as far as I am concerned is just a wannabe nurse tried to out mouth me. This did not happen as without sounding full of myself I am a lot quicker and smarter than she will ever be.
I was told that she did not understand my culture (British – even though she was born in Britain and moved to the states!) where people put ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ at the end of a request and think that it is automatically deemed as polite. She then carried on trying to bombard me with the statement that in our workplace colleagues were incredibly sarcastic with each other and she did not understand that either.
My answer: Well please and thank you are actually words used to portray what we call in ‘our culture’ MANNERS which you seem to so obviously lack, as for the sarcasm you do understand it is the lowest form of wit and you have that down to a tee with perfect portrayal in this conversation alone. Now if there is anything else you would like to add to burden my night shift with please do continue otherwise I refuse to stand here and argue with you as it is pointless and you are in the wrong.’
All of this because I asked this person to get a drug chart for me that should have been at the bedside in the first place.
Personally I don’t think I was rude?! Also I don’t mind people with attitude if they are right but she was so far wrong it was untrue also looking into her daily tasks further I found a patient assessment that was ‘completed’ but MASSIVELY incorrect. When reported to the sister I was told that this person is still supernumerary (Untrue as that period ended last week) and that she is still learning. I continued to highlight the prodigious mistakes she had made with the initial assessment (which would leave the patient without food if I didn’t check it!) and was told that obviously this is something that should be highlighted but she is still learning.
Not to be funny but being able to add up numbers that clearly come to a total of 16 and writing 11 without changing it or attempting to bring attention to it sets alarm bells off for me. Also did I mention this person has previously stated to other members of staff that she is a registered nurse in the states. If this is the sort of person that will look after me if I get sick in the states please lord watch over me until I am back in the safety of the UK.
