If i’m honest it’s been a bit of a tough week so whilst I am sitting here on Monday evening finally writing this post after a heck of a busy day I am thinking back on what I have actually read. Not that much altogether which bothers me but otherwise I go quite a bit of commenting done and other stuff! I have really enjoyed being more active on Twitter, Pinterest and even Goodreads – really should do it more often.
I am almost there. Guys I am so close to the end.
I really should start taking this seriously as I need to get through it asap!
Over the past couple of weeks I have been sent some fabulous books but have yet to get around taking photos of them. I may write a book mail post for later in the week. If not keep your eyes peeled for the book stack!
These have been staple items in this weeks beauty regime – over the past month I have been trying to take care of my skin and have had the opportunity to try some amazing products which over the next couple of weeks I will be letting you know how I get on.
I saw these great PJ’s online from Primark and think I may have to make a little trip. As I am trying to save money spending more time at home is something that I will be doing more often than I usually do.
Otherwise on Blog A Book . . .
After getting out of a nice hot bath there is nothing better than slathering on this moisturiser. It is incredibly thick and actually feels like it is keeping my skin smooth. With cold weather it is nice to hydrate the skin and for the moment this is my moisturiser of choice – plus it doesn’t irritate my extremely sensitive skin.
Whilst out walking the dog the other day I noticed that most of the daffodils have now bloomed. I couldn’t resist stopping to take a couple of snaps. I love spring mornings especially when there aren’t that many people around. Nice and chilled.
What have you been up to?
With another week on the horizon and plenty to do this meme is the perfect way to say goodbye to weeks gone by and start afresh. This great meme is hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey and is a way for bloggers from all corners of the internet to link up and see what has been happening it other peoples world. Have you tried it yet? You really should.
I am still listening to this audio and loving it. The story is progressing at a glacial pace but from past experience with Moriarty’s books I am sure it will pick up soon. Or at least I hope it will!
My happiness could not be expressed when I got this through the door – I have started it and as suspected I am LOVING it!
Cocktails at Fontaine’s in Stoke Newington with Catherine & the men in our life.
It was the start of a great evening.
Breakfast after a block of night shifts is always necessary and Harrison’s in Balham really fit the bill.
This is one of my favourite make up brushes, it picks up just the right amount of powder without being too heavy on the face. Worth the money and when washed does not lose consistency.
This product is great for a quick fix between regular skin care routines or if you have more time leaving it on a little longer gives stunning results.
What do you have planned for the week ahead?
My, my, my what a week it has been. Having just returned from one of the most romantic weekends of my life I am sorry to say that life has to resume to normal proceedings. With a week of night shifts looming I am sure that I will have plenty of time to listen to a couple of books I have in the pipeline.
After quite some time I have finally picked this book up. Despite not liking the look of the actual author and some of her comments I really do want to give it a go.
This one made it to the pile too as it was on offer and the next one on from Wolf Hall so why not!
This scrub has been a godsend over the past week – I will post a review to let you know how I got on with it.
If you didn’t know from yesterday’s post and a couple more himself booked a trip away for Valentine’s day and truly blew me away. Check out some of the photos HERE.
Happy Monday peeps!
How is your New Year panning out so far? For me the time is just flying by and things are a bit of a fuzz! With plenty to read/listen and my skin causing me a ridiculous amount of problems with the bitter weather that has been dealt out I just want to curl up with copious amounts of caffeine and chill out. Although I have not made any New Years resolutions there are goals that throughout the year I set myself and slowly try to tick off of my list each month. One goal I am working towards at the moment is a work goal so I won’t be writing it on here but I may be a little bit distracted so bare with me.
So what have you been up to over the past week?
It has certainly taken some time but I am LOVING this book. Although the narration is slightly grating it is a really gripping read that you just don’t know where the next chapter will lead you.
Next on the list . . .
I am contemplating finishing the rest of Liane Moriarty’s books whilst I am in the mood.
However I really am thinking about finishing off this . . .
It has been sitting in my Audible library unfinished for quite some time now so I am thinking I might just have to grin and bear it!
What is on your reading list this week?
I managed to pick this up in the sale on the Collectif website – it was an absolute steal and was delivered today. It fits like a dream and I am in LOVE! The fabric is thick and in abundance! Trying to get it on and off was a bit of a chore but worth every minute! I will take pictures of me in it of course and post that soon.
With the cold weather really battering my skin keeping my hands, face and lips smooth is a task as they are the first areas that feel the brunt. Air conditioning is yet another issue to be dealt with whilst at work that causes chapped lips. This wonderful product really does put paid to harsh weather conditions and artificial air circulation. After washing my hands of course a couple of dabs and my lips are kept moist and smooth. The smell of this product is not for everyone but I like it very much.
As part of the gift set I bought myself last week this lovely product is my go to hand cream for work as it makes my hands feel silky smooth after so many washes of my hands. Have you tried it yet?
With himself we settled in the front room and both spent some laptop/work time together. Although we were working on different projects we chatted, chilled and just had a generally nice evening. Then the Baileys came out – delicious as always!
Although Mikado’s are absolutely delicious there is something about pretzel sticks and nutella that just taste absolutely divine. Soft chocolate with a touch of salt is YUMMY!
What have you been up to?
This week has been more productive than most on the reading front – which is surprising considering the weird shift pattern that I had allocated to me. After trying to get into my regular refuge for reading and blogging and finding that it was being refurbished I stuck to reading rather than blogging and clearly it made a difference. I felt slightly more organised than usual despite not actually having a plan. Let’s see what this week brings!
Well, well, well! This book was romantic indeed – but without wanting to spoil it! My review will be up soon
True to Colgan form this book was just wonderful.
Check out my review for this which will go live tomorrow.
This romantic little treat was just delightful.
Check out my review HERE!
Once again you can see that I have been a busy bee and there is still more to come. Tomorrow you will see my review for the Christmas Surprise as mentioned above and there will be a whole host of other tidbits for you to feast your eyes on throughout the week. If there are any requests of posts from my end please do get in touch
My, my what a busy weekend! With the read-a-thon over (sadly :() a new week is upon us and life most certainly does go on. Did you take part in the read-a-thon? If you did, how did you get on? Now onto the books!
Almost half way through and I absolutely LOVE this book.
Quite a tear jerker for Jenny Colgan but I will leave it at that as I do not want to spoil it for you!
Thanks to the Read-a-thon I have managed to finish this book and am patiently waiting to start the next one. The review will be up soon.
As well as the Notting Hill book I will be writing a review about this ASAP.
I am slightly disappointed that I am still waiting for this book – so BIG boo hoo from me!
What are you reading this week?
Yet another Monday has rolled around and my book list is still epically massive! Thanks to Sheila over at Book Journey all of us book lovers/geeks come together on this gloriously tiring day and share what we have read, plan to read etc. So whilst I am finishing my second to last night shift of the week and heading to bed with a nice cuppa and a couple of pages before I drift into the land of nod I thought I would share what I have been up to.
Sent from the lovelies at Harper Perennial US I am loving this book but struggling to get through it as sleep takes over me. Tomorrow I will be able to give it a little more attention!
Review posted HERE. Check it out and even grab a copy if you can.
I just LOVE Liane Moriarty’s writing so I am very much looking forward to this one. Although not looking forward to carrying it as it is a hefty hardback! May have to look into a Kindle version
