#IMWAYR

Books, Reading, It's Monday What Are You Reading?, #IMWAYR,

It’s Monday peeps! How was your weekend?
From friends birthday celebrations to maximum relaxation my weekend was great.

Let’s get on with it!

Wearing

Russell & Bromley, Boots, Shoes, Fashion, Winter,

These beauties have been on my list for quite some time. If you fancy a pair get them HERE.

Ray Bans, Scarf, Zara, Accessories, Winter, Fashion, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

On the odd day that I had off and managed to get around Central I chose to wrap up warm but take my sunnies as there were some stray rays about. Contact lenses at the ready and I was away!

Using

MAC, Gently Off Eye & Lip Make Up Remover, Make Up Remover, Eye Make Up Remover, Lip Make Up Remover, Make Up, Beauty, Cosmetics, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

This product is one of the staples in my collection of cosmetics and cleansers. It is so gentle on the skin and leaves no dryness post application. It has had a little more air time than usual as I have been donning the darker shades of lipstick and need to remove them so I don’t end up with unsightly staining. You can grab a bottle HERE.

NARS, Audacious Lip Collection, Bette, Lip Stick, Satin, Red, Autumn, Winter, Beauty, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Speaking of the darker shades this beauty is from the NARS Audacious Lip Collection, it was also my first step onto the NARS bandwagon that I am finding increasingly difficult to get off. Their colours are just so gorgeous!

Watched

Movies, Dumb & Dumber To, Dumb & Dumber 2, Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Comedy, Cinema, Movies, Entertainment, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Not as funny as the first movie – but that is only my opinion. Still hilarious however!

The Flash, Superhero, TV Series, TV, DC, DC Comics, Comics, The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper, Barry Allen, Fastest Man Alive, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

After watching the first episode on Sky 1 I am absolutely hooked and find myself linking up to the states just to get my hit every week. Most definitely worth the watch especially if you like superheros! Geeking out over here and having far to many fangirl moments – well more than I would like to admit anyway :)

A bit of a slow starter – that is all I can say for now.
Look out for the review on Wednesday 3rd December.

Currently Reading

Foxglove Summer, Ben Aaronovitch, Fiction, Books, Reading, London, Rivers of London, The Folly

Ben Aaronovitch’s writing style is truly stellar and the series of books starting with Rivers of London are spectacular.
I was one happy reader when this one was sent through. Check out his books either on Amazon or The Folly.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be busy with events and getting ready for Christmas of course. This year I plan to be a lot more organised than last but who knows what will happen. My book selection might also change (only slightly) to those more on the academic side as I am studying for something important.

What have you been up to this week?

It's Monday but it's ok

#IMWAYR

I started writing this post last week and then the week just took over. As many of you know I am a nurse and I work shifts so things can be a little hectic when it comes to having time to sit down and schedule posts.

This weeks post will be a little different as I will be including bits about what has been happening with me and not just the books I have read etc! I have done this before and really enjoyed writing the posts. Well, here goes!

LIFE

As I mentioned above I have been on night shifts but recently work has been full on as my shifts are a bit all over the place. A couple of months ago I started writing the staff newsletter and really enjoy doing so, this has now become a monthly thing.

nurse, life of a nurse

Despite being nagged by everyone and their dog to get the flu jab this year I am yet to do it. This week I got a very bad cold – I don’t think it was flu but it was bad enough to make me want to go and get the jab as feeling like this is one thing and from experience flu is even worse!

flu jab, health, medication

Christmas shopping – yes I said it! Although some may deem it too early I just see it as being organised slightly as I am sure there will be something that I will leave to the last-minute. The shops are already being ransacked for presents that will be presented to our nearest and dearest. Have you started yet?

santa moped!

I have not been to the gym in over 3 weeks and I feel very bad for this. Bad enough to scoff a delicious mince-pie with my coffee – I will get around to going back but I think I should ease myself into it! Some light swimming perhaps!

BEAUTY

Over the past couple of weeks my make up collection has grown significantly. Especially in the NARS department. Their seasonal colours are truly amazing and I can think of no better reason to get glammed up even for a night sipping red wine at your local bar/pub or just a simple shopping trip with a vamped up look.

I have already written a post about one of the colours from the Audacious lipstick range but will be posting the rest of my lovely collection over the next couple of weeks. Today however I wanted to share with you a favourite that seems to be used on a daily basis and may be in need of a refill sooner rather than later!

NARS, Cosmetics, Lip, Lips, Lip Pencil, Velvet Matte, Bahama

Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama – £18

This pencil is an absolute beauty and something that if available I will be making several buys. The colour is incredibly neutral and as it is matte stays on for such a long time that reapplication is few and far between. At £18 it’s not cheap but totally worth it if within your budget.

Books

Currently Reading

the snow globe, sheila roberts, books, reading, blog a book etc, fay, blog tour, fiction, christmas, festive

Last week I was sent three books by Sheila Roberts and as agreed I am starting to read The Snow Globe first. There will be a review up on Wednesday 3rd December as I am taking part in the Blog Tour for the book.

Just Received

Foxglove Summer, Ben Aaronovitch, Fiction, Books, Reading, London, Rivers of London, The Folly

I absolutely love Mr A’s style of writing as well as most of the books being based in London (I Heart My City!) they are just such a great adventure. I look forward to getting stuck into this one.

Events

Over the past couple of months I have attended a few events and as this is party season the calendar is filling up pretty fast – not only with work but social and bloggy events. Tonight I will be attending a decadent sleepover in honour of the release of Sylvia Day’s new book. Champagne and Chocolates here I come!

That’s all for now guys :D

IMWAYR

This week has been more productive than most on the reading front – which is surprising considering the weird shift pattern that I had allocated to me. After trying to get into my regular refuge for reading and blogging and finding that it was being refurbished I stuck to reading rather than blogging and clearly it made a difference. I felt slightly more organised than usual despite not actually having a plan. Let’s see what this week brings!

IMWAYR, It's Monday What Are You Reading?, Reading, Weekly Meme, Monday, Meme, Books, Book Group, Online Book Group, Book Journey, Blog A Book Etc

With yet another weekend gone by too soon another week has begun. More books and things to do as always with to do lists forever growing. Shops have started to stock for Christmas and the shopping madness has begun. With another packed work week and the clocks gone back I have squeezed in quite a bit of reading and hope this week will bring me the same opportunity. You may notice that the majority of the books that I am reading have an extremely festive theme, I am not really one for scary books so Halloweeny books are out of the equation and straight for the happy festive reads it is! But fear not fair readers I have yet to break out Elf or other Christmassy films (Give it a week!).

Love Actually, Notting Hill, London, Love, Romance, Chick Lit, Fiction, Reading, Books, Ali Harris, Little Brown Book Group, Sphere, Blog A Book Etc, Fay, From Notting Hill to New York . . . Actually

The second book in the Notting Hill series from Ali McNamara and I am loving it.

If you have read this you may notice that there are a lot of film references – I have made a list (that is forever growing!) and making my way slowly through it! Awesome reason to watch films!
