To Do Tuesday

To Do, Tuesday, Lists, Organisation, To Do Tuesday

Going back to work after time off is never a nice thing to have to do. It is even weirder when you go back to work and it feels like you have been gone for even longer as so much has changed. I am sure that I am not the only one that has things that really grind on me at work that I would love to change. Isn’t it funny that those little niggly things have a way of sorting themselves out and when you are not even there – like elves have been in! There are a couple of things that I will be carrying over to this week but that is purely because I want to perfect things rather than leaving them half done.

Last Weeks List

- Find new social network buttons

- Check out new bloggers

- Write trip post & edit photos

- Edit Pinterest boards

- Back up blog and photos on computer

#IMWAYR

Monday, Blogging, It's Monday What Are You Reading?, IMWAYR, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Last week I returned from Amsterdam on Monday but was too late to put up my Monday post due to ridiculous delays with British Airways. Surprisingly the flight and customer services was awful but thankfully we are home safely.

Reading, Books, Fiction, Non Fiction, It's Monday What Are You Reading?, IMWAYR, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

In the mood for more Moriarty I started listening to this and it is no surprise that I am already hooked.

Beauty

Lime Tree Blossom Shower Scrub, Shower, Scrub, Lime Tree Blossom, Douche, Blog A Book Etc, Beauty, Skin Care, Fay

€2.50 – 150ml
Last time I went to Amsterdam I remember this product and lucky for me the HEMA shop were still selling it. It smells amazing and although it is over the 100ml mark and I am unable to take it back home it is just the right price to use whilst there and not feel bad leaving it behind.

Hair Care, Hair, Serum, Beauty, Hema, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

€4.50 – 30ml

Perfect sized bottle of serum which I can say from experience works on Afro Caribbean hair very well. Leaving my locks feeling well nourished and smelling fresh – also it seems to tame the frizz. Of course I bought it home with me!

Life

Coffee, Barneys, Amsterdam , Caffeine, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Just one of the many delicious coffees we had whilst in Amsterdam – maybe it is because they use creamer instead of milk. Yummy!

Spongebob, Spongebob's Squarepants, Cartoons, Kids, TV, Amsterdam, Street Art, Art, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Most nights we would take a stroll around the town and on our first night we came across Spongebob watching us.

What have you been up to this week?
Any plans for the week ahead?

Week in Pictures #1

In an attempt to keep track of 2015 I am going to try and post a weekly collection of photos that I have taken over the previous week. There are so many of you out there that are taking numerous photos and putting them up for different challenges. Instead of taking part in a challenge (they tend to never get finished!) I thought it would be a nice way without the commitment of a challenge to share my photos.

Amsterdam, Teddy's, Cafe, Food, Drink, Breakfast, Pancakes, Syrup, Bacon, Lights

This was definitely the place to go when it came to breakfast in Dam.
Those pancakes you can just about see didn’t last too long!

Spongebob, Spongebob's Squarepants, Cartoons, Kids, TV, Amsterdam, Street Art, Art, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Little bit of spongebob goes a long way! And he made it to Dam!

Coffee, Barneys, Amsterdam , Caffeine, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

One of many coffees had in Dam – cannot tell you how good they were!

Kiss, Kisses, Love, Romance, Relationships, Life, Blog A Book Etc, Fay, Quotes

Very true.

coffee, screaming beans, caffeine, espresso, latte, cafe au lait, coffee addict, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

In a proper coffee shop if you know what I mean!

R, Letters, Art, Street Art, Amsterdam, Shops, Books, Walking, Travel, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

After walking through London and seeing all of the beautifully decorated chairs etc it was nice to see this  painted letter in Dam.

Coffee, Coffee Addict, Espresso, Cafe Au Lait, Latte, Barney's, Amsterdam, Football, West Ham, Travel, Blog A Book Etc, Fay

Himself just had to find somewhere to watch the football and luckily for him Barney’s obliged. I was happy as I had coffee and wifi – plus for him West Ham did win!

What have you been photographing this week?

To Do Tuesday

To Do, Tuesday, Lists, Organisation, To Do TuesdayAfter being away for most of last week my to do list both personal and on the blog side of things has grown extensively. Whilst away I was unable to take part in the mini bloggiesta so I will be organising myself over the next couple of days (hopefully!). As I have already changed my theme and other little things on the blog there isn’t too much to do but there are the little things.

So . . .

- Write trip post & edit photos

- Edit Pinterest boards

To Do Tuesday – Blogmas Day 16

To Do, To Do List, Lists, List, Organisation, Organise, Blogging, Blog, Writing

Last Weeks List

- Write Christmas cards and send for Book Bloggers Holiday Card Exchange

- Wrap and bag Christmas presents

- Put up Christmas lights

- Schedule 1 week of posts

- Comment on 10 news blogs

- Put together gift basket for mothers

How Did I Get On?

Still working on the Christmas gift baskets for our mothers however it is taking longer than I anticipated due to lack of time to go out and shop for the contents. Bit by bit I am getting there – it will happen. On the wrapping side of things the other day I got into a bit of a wrapping frenzy put my audio book on and got cracking. With only 3 more presents to wrap and a couple more to buy I am pretty much all sorted.

One thing I do regret this year is not planning ahead enough to participate in The Broke & The Bookish Secret Santa – such a shame but next year will be a good one! (Not wishing the time away of course!).

Commenting has not been my strong point this week but I have visited almost 10 new blogs and let me tell you there are some awesome bloggers out there – as if you didn’t already know.

This Weeks List

- Edit Christmas baking blog and put on You Tube

- Comment on 10 news blogs

- Find 5 new blogs on Bloglovin’

- Organise 2 Pinterest boards

Once again I will be on Twitter & Instagram this afternoon whilst out and about!

See You There :D

This set of beauties are my picks for essential go to products during fashion week. Now some may think that there are items that are slightly older than others, however classics never really go out of style. Comfort and style are a must when you are traipsing around shows and trying to keep your eye out for that one piece that really stands out. I have yet to have my New York Fashion Week debut however I am sure I will get there one day! Heading for London Fashion Week may be a bit more achievable for now!
There are so many collections out there of what to wear and how to wear it and some items are truly fabulous. Keep your eyes peeled like I am and grab hold of those wardrobe staples as Winter is just around the corner. From Primark to AARK there is such a grand selection out there.

What will you choose?

Snap App Happy

App Happy, Apps, Phone Apps, Photo Apps, iPhone, Photography, Blog A Book Etc

The app market is saturated to the hilts with free and not so free photo editing apps. There are also plenty of posts about peoples most used and favourite editing apps. So . . . here are mine!

Snapseed

Google+, Snapseed, App, iPhone app, Photography, iPhone, Photo Apps, Blog A Book Etc

For dramatic stormy skies and scratchy vintage like finishes this is the app for you. Not only is it free but if you like the sort of app where you can just upload straight to many social networks this is great.

Pixlr-o-Matic

Pixlr-o-matic, App, iPhone app, Photography, iPhone, Photo Apps, Blog A Book Etc

Add-ons plus minor twists and turns this app has pretty much everything you need to transform a plain Jane photograph into something spectacular. My favourite filter is . . .

A Beautiful Mess

A Beautiful Mess, App, iPhone app, Photography, iPhone, Photo Apps, Blog A Book Etc

Although I had to pay for this app (About £1 – I think!) there are a few nice features on this app. However the one disappointment is despite paying already for the privilege of taking up storage space on my phone if I were to use certain fonts I would have to pay more.

Click Serendipity

Click Serendipity, App, iPhone app, Photography, iPhone, Photo Apps, Blog A Book Etc

This is an app that I have neither used or owned however have looked and seen great things about it – I am still thinking about making the purchase but with so many other apps available for free it won’t be happening any time soon.

VSCO Cam

VSCO Cam,App, iPhone app, Photography, iPhone, Photo Apps, Blog A Book Etc

Lots of rave reviews for this lovely little app, however I am still waiting for it to show me it’s best. Maybe it is time to sit and play about with it a bit.

Retrica

Retrica, App, iPhone app, Photography, iPhone, Photo Apps, Blog A Book Etc

This app was introduced to me by some colleagues and although it is more about the instant photos rather than uploading and saving photos (saving on the memory) it isn’t really much different from instagram. The resemblance doesn’t stop from instagram even down to the apps icon.

What are your favourite photo apps?

1 & Only

Well. . . Not so much!

Things have been a little bit quiet over here on the blog and in general as night shifts started after only one day off. Hence the lack of time to blog a frolic!

If you remember a couple of posts ago I was letting loose about my feelings towards dating, online dating and the sites that provide such services. Now sift through if you wish but if you do remember Date 2 was the one that I was hoping to ‘revisit’. Needless to say it happened and we have had quite a bit of fun since, HOWEVER on one particular ‘date night’ the question was asked. No, noooo! Not will you be my . . . whatever you would like to enter in there.

THE QUESTION

Should we . . . um . . . invite someone else to join us. . . ?

At this point in time I will not be going into past experiences but for the present this was one experience that I was not willing to re-try. When asked why such a thought had crossed this particular guys mind the explanation was one that much thought had gone into – well possibly. The fact that his previous girlfriend was nothing but ‘frigid’ turned him into a wildling! Lucky me!

There are people out there that have been in relationships for years on end and those that have skipped from one relationship to another without any breaks and admittedly I used to be one of those as the comfort is something that is truly wonderful. After being single for almost two years I have to say I know how he feels to be free after years of one bad thing after another, yes there were fabulous times but you are single now so there is obviously a reason why things did not work out.

Being in a relationship is not a bad thing in the slightest but it is something that takes a lot of work from both sides and sometimes if one side just cannot be bothered things start to flail – which is a shame. He is one of the latter varieties (relationship to relationship) but even after a while away from attachment he is still wild. Now please do not mistake this post as me putting it out there and trying to change him as that is something that I out-and-out refuse to do. If a man does not want to change and actively goes out to do it himself then there is no woman out there short of Halle Berry (in the catsuit!) that can tempt a man.

Currently I would like to be in a relationship but I am at that point that I can take it or leave it if it is too much work at the start – I want something nice and easy to start with!

GIVEAWAY: Goody Bag with Popular by Maya Van Wagenen

The lovely people from Penguin put on a lovely vintage themed party for the interview of the lovely Maya Van Wagenen by the awesome Jo Elvin (Glamour Editor). Whilst there we were all given goody bags with a copy of the book and the opportunity to have a little chat with Maya and get her to sign her book. The lovely Maya signed a copy for me and personalised it and also signed two more copies for my readers.

The book is receiving rave reviews and Maya is truly inspirational especially for her age. She seems wise beyond her years and a pleasure to listen to when speaking. This young lady is poised and ready for action and I am pretty sure there will be a lot of that on the literary scene as she is well and truly on fire.

On the night we were given the hashtag WWBD – little did I know that when I actually checked on the social networking feeds that was also being used for What Would Beyoncé Do? – Quite frankly as fabulous as Beyoncé is I couldn’t give a rats backside what she would do in her current situation as it is none of my business. So with attention back on the lovely Maya we cracked on!

Grand Designs @ The London ExCel

Grand-Designs-Live-London-5th-13th-May

Thanks to the lovely Nick from Power Cases I actually found out that this was on. I really do need to concentrate more on the social scene for events and such things! Killing two birds (no animals were harmed during the writing of this post – had to be said!) so to speak as I had to pick up some bits for other people I headed off to the show just to collect and run. HOWEVER – once there with the press room calling I got my golden ticket and was away like wildfire with my camera. This post is going to be heavy on the photos and light on the words. So this is what I saw on the day . . .

old skool

In a little corner these lovely vintage looking items were placed. My only problem was the price tag being almost £10k!!!

garden loving

So many beautiful things for the garden and pretty much something for every corner of a broad imagination and a lot of money.

kitchen crazy

for the love of vodka

a little pizzazz

light

That’s about it from my little trip to Grand Designs! There were some amazing sights but overall I have to say most of the stuff is heavily over priced and most people would most likely be able to reproduce if a little effort was put in!

Did you go? If so what was your favourite part? Did you buy anything?
