BEAUTY | Autumn Must Haves

As we head into the colder months (not that you would guess it with the days we have just had!) it is not just our wardrobes that will be going through some changes. Over the coming months your skin will need a considerable amount of care and attention. Just think wind, rain and even the possibility of snow – all of which can have a detrimental effect on your skin.

I have put together a collection of products that I find tackle the effects winter weather have on my skin. Hopefully if you haven’t used them before or even if you have they will come in useful as part of your winter regime.

Now these are personal favourites of mine and have stood the test of time over many years use. The most recent addition to my collection is the see Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser and I have to say it is there to stay. I was lucky enough to pick up a box set of three special editions which have the most delicious scents. The most recent one that I have used had a hint of Lavender and it just felt so soothing as I had a chest infection. Comfort is always good especially with winter products.

No longer do I need to use this sentence as whilst exchanging a pair of jeans that were faulty I picked one of these bad boys up. Surprisingly M&S have a pretty hefty selection of beauty products and they are incredibly luxurious without the overwhelming price tag (some of them!). Despite this balm being £9.50 which seems like a bumper price for a lip balm once again for most products that seem pricey, a little goes a long way. It is incredibly thick however spreads very easily once on the lips and smells divine.

Origins, Modern Friction, Microdermabrasion, Exfoliator, Skin Care, Moisturiser, Nivea, Creme, Blog A Book Etc, Fay Origins Modern Friction is one that I always make sure I have a stock of, being quite a popular one from the brand it is relatively easy to get hold of. Although it is not cheap a little really does go a long way and I only use it about three times per week. Working in an environment with either harsh air conditioning or heating either which way my skin ends up bone dry at the end of the day if not cared for.

Modern Friction for me is the product that I go to for removal of flaky bits and buffing up my skin for a natural shine. Paired with the use of my Magnitone BareFaced this product really works its magic on my skin. At the end of the week instead of feeling flaky and just overall a bit meh, my skin feels smooth, even and quite supple (with the use of a moisturiser too!).

This is where the Nivea Creme comes in handy. For a creme that despite its prestige from many decades still remains quite cheap is a great item to add to anyones collection. Not only is it soothing but coverage is amazing and it keeps the skin soft throughout the day. The consistency of Nivea Creme is not like any other creme I have used before – it is thick however to get full coverage is extremely easy.

Many of you may wonder why I have added coconut oil to my stash. Well my lovelies, not only do I use coconut oil on my hair for my bi-weekly hot oil treatments but I use it on dry patches of skin, feet and even in cooking. If there is one product that I buy more than anything throughout winter it is this. Thankfully it is quite inexpensive and even if it were pricier the ends would justify the means as it has multiple uses.

What is your go to winter product?
