Today is a very special day. It is my best friend Catherine’s birthday. Otherwise known to the blogging world as Catherine from Vintage Frills. We have been friends for over 13 years and every year we look back and think about those years gone by. What we have done, not done, plan to do with the many hopefully to come. Much like a sister Catherine has played a monumental part in my teen years and much fun was had and continues to be had. She is a wonderful mother to my two adorable god-daughters and loving wife to and old school friend of mine. One couldn’t ask for a better friend.
To celebrate Catherine’s special day a group of us took her to Champagne Afternoon Tea at Four O Nine in Clapham. Here is how it went:
After entering through the secret side door (check it out!),
We were welcomed to Four O Nine by two delightful gentleman whose smiles never left their face throughout our stay.
They took our coats and led us to our table.
Champagne with a plethora of cakes and sandwiches ripe for the picking.
Chocolate was most definitely not in short supply and on the rich side too.
All of the food was freshly made and this was obvious by texture and taste.
Delicate and able to melt in the mouth these moreish morsels ensued a brief silence
at the table whilst we marvelled in the current delight to our taste buds.
The chocolate continued and although the slight phallic shape this did not deter us.
My favourite and made by special order at prior request on book the Eton Mess was utterly divine.
A bubbly cheers to the birthday girl.
The lovely Tammy getting stuck into her Eton Mess.
Gorgeous Jo opening up to us all!
The birthday girl trying to get hers in on the sly!
The ever so thoughtful Charlotte pondering where to start!
Tea by Candlelight at Four O Nine.
Dusk setting in after our wonderful tea party.
Home time sadly.
We will be back.
Check out Four O Nine and book a party of your own.
There is always something going on and the team there are more than happy to welcome you with open arms, warm hearts and massive smiles.
